The “butterflies” brought a bunch of school supplies for the children here.  It was a great experience to be able to visit the schools and meet the children.  They were all so happy and excited to see us and all the new school supplies.

The Butterfly Effect Fiji Expedition came and went too fast!   The week flew by and  everyone made great improvements.   They are leaving stoked with stories to tell, ripping pics to show off to their friends, a tan to bring back to the winter in New Zealand, and little coral cuts that will turn into scars to always remind them of lovely Fiji.  The winds showed up everyday of the trip and we all had the opportunity to get out there on the water for hours.  Fiji will become an annual trip that will be great for all women who are into windsurfing and kiting.  The conditions here are just right with calm waters, consistent winds, great instructors for those who want it, beautiful warm weather, and lots of space to explore in and out of the water.

We have been working hard these past days trying to get our water starts and board riding down with kiting and windsurfing.  Everyone is now getting it and smiles are getting bigger! Good job girls!

Ultimately, Vinaka to the amazing location we are all blessed to be at, Safari Lodge Fiji.  Located right off teh beach we are able to windsurf and kite when ever we feel like it.  Get one on one lessons or group clinics.  This is place to learn these sports.  Safari Lodge provides the best instruction for either sport and the learning area is a big open space with saftey boats and extremely experienced teachers.   Come check it out and visit the website for more info by SAFARI LODGE.

We arrived to Safari Lodge, which is little island just off the mainland Fiji. The ocean is amazingly warm and blue, the sun is shining all day and the wind is just right! We have been having full not stop water action days. We have different levels for this Butterfly Effect trip with some girls learning to get on the board kiting to windsurfing water starts, to forward looping. The girls were surprised with a filled goodie bag from our lovely sponsors. Wings Hawaii, Karamel, Dakine, and Hawaiian Island Surf styled the girls out with natural tote bags, tank tops, tunics, rashguards, shell necklaces, and island style stickers.

The Butterfly Effect had a lovely booth at this years Maui Film Festival.  They showed numerous films and on Thursday night Castles of the Sky was shown.  It was a perfect balance of surfing and culture around the world. The creator of the great surf film,Taylor Steele, stopped by The Butterfly Effect booth too!
