The Butterfly Effect is a non-competitive event that inspires women to stay active, learn the local culture, build community, promotes sustainability and healthy living, and give back. Since the event originates from Maui, Hawai’i, it always brings aloha and involves an active adventure (example: SUP, surf, kitesurf, windsurf, dance, yoga, SUP Yoga, snowboard, ski), gift bags, prizes, healthy food, local vendors, and more!

Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, in partnership with Maui Jim and The Butterfly Effect, presents the 5th Annual Maui Paddle for a Cure, a benefit for Susan G. Komen® Hawaii that will take place on October 13, 2018. 

This fun non-competitive event takes stand-up paddle boarders, kayakers and canoe paddlers along the beautiful Ka‘anapali Beach shoreline, starting Hyatt Regency Maui to famous Pu‘u Keka‘a (a.k.a. Black Rock) and back. Immediately following the paddle, the official After Party will feature live entertainment from award-winning musical artist Anuhea, food, drinks, silent auction, vendor booths and access to the Lei Po’o (flower crown) Lounge. Optional morning yoga and SUP clinic are also included in the paddle entry fee.

 

To date, this annual event has raised more than $115,000 for Susan G. Komen® Hawaii. The goal for 2018 is to raise another $55,000 to aid in the organization’s mission to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer”.

 

100% of event registration and donations will be donated to Susan G. Komen® Hawaii. Register today, as an individual or as a team!

What if I don’t want to participate in the paddle, can I still contribute somehow?

 

Yes, you can! Here are other ways to get involved:

 

Fundraise  – Top fundraising individual will win a two-night stay in the Hyatt Regency Maui Presidential Suite (valued at $3,000 per night). Top fundraising team will win $500 to Japengo. You do not need to enter the paddle in order to donate. All funds must be turned in by October 31st. Top fundraisers will be notified by November 5, 2018 via email.

 

Join the After Party – Those who wish to join the After Party are welcome to purchase an admission ticket for just $25 online even if they don’t participate in the paddle.

 

Cabanas for a Cure – The new Pink Ocean Hale package at Hyatt Regency Maui features two pink Ocean Hales as part of its new “Cabanas for a Cure” program. Resort guests may rent the pink cabanas now through the end of October and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the cause. The Pink Ocean Hale package include two complimentary cocktails. Rentals can be booked by calling 808.667.3225.

 

Purchase Pink Merchandise – Visit Hyatt Regency Maui now through the end of October and stop by the Pool Desk to purchase pink merchandise. A portion of proceeds will go to Susan G. Komen® Hawaii. During Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, look for limited time select items at Japengo, Drums of the Pacific Lu’au, Kamaha’o a Marilyn Monroe Spa, and Son’z Steakhouse as well! Sorry, pink merchandise is not available for purchase online.
